As things progressed, he expanded his scope of business to include the sales of income producing properties such as retail centers, office buildings, apartment projects and selected industrial facilities. Dairy Queen of Texas, Inc. sought Wilhelm and his erstwhile partner out to represent DQ in the Greater Houston Area which resulted in 112 new restaurants being constructed over an 8-year period. Serving Dairy Queen left a lasting impact on Wilhelm's modus operandi of precisely defining the buyer's, developer's or tenant's criteria and then seeking out the desired improved or non-improved real estate as efficiently as possible, including, in many instances, properties that had not been currently on the market (via numerous long-standing personal contacts with many individual owners or corporate selling entities and, also, Wilhelm's unique ability to ferret out properties generally overlooked in the current marketplace).
